Mawlavi Mati-ul-Haq Khalis, Director General of the National Environmental Protection Agency, met with Indrika Ratwatte, Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Afghanistan, and Charity Watson, UNAMA Advisor.
During the meeting, they discussed challenges and problems related to global aid, financial resource mobilization, and participation of national and international institutions, taking into account the priorities of Afghanistan’s National Contribution Document (NCD) and the submission of the second version of this document to the UN Climate Change Convention.
In this meeting, Andrika Ratwatte pledged to try to hold meetings with donor institutions on environmental protection in Afghanistan, in coordination with regional and global countries, especially in order to attract regional and international support under the leadership of the National Environmental Protection Agency.
On the other hand, Mawlavi Mati-ul-Haq Khalis spoke about the importance of the presence of representatives of the National Environmental Protection Agency in international meetings, especially the World Conference on Climate Change (COP30) to be held in Brazil.
