Zalmay Khalilzad, former U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Peace, met with Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Afghanistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting focused on ways to expand bilateral relations between Afghanistan and the United States, as well as discussing existing opportunities and challenges.
Mawlawi Muttaqi said that following the withdrawal of foreign troops and the end of the war in Afghanistan, engagement between the Islamic Emirate and the U.S. has entered a new phase.
During the meeting, Mr. Khalilzad praised Afghanistan’s progress in security and reconstruction and emphasized the continuation of bilateral talks.
