Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, Minister of Interior Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, met with Mohammad Reza Bahrami, Director General for South Asia Affairs at Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ali Reza Beikdeli, Iran’s Ambassador to Kabul.
The two sides discussed joint efforts to combat narcotics and to strengthen cooperation along the Iran–Afghanistan border. They also emphasized the importance of ensuring regional security and stability and resolving issues through mutual understanding.
Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani stressed that Afghanistan seeks friendly and stable relations based on mutual respect with all countries, especially its neighbors. He added, “Just as we respect the sovereignty and dignity of others, we expect good intentions and mutual respect in return.”
