Mawlawi Noor Jalal Jalali, Minister of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, held an online meeting with the ministers of health of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar, as well as officials from the World Health Organization and the Gates Foundation, to discuss improving the implementation of the polio vaccination program, enhancing staff capacity, increasing coordination, and improving the quality of health services.
The Minister of Public Health emphasized that efforts to prevent and eradicate polio and other infectious diseases are ongoing, and that the Ministry remains committed to providing quality health services.
Foreign participants also expressed their readiness to cooperate in training Afghan health workers and combating polio.
