Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund: Calls for Expanded Economic Engagement Instead of Sanctions

Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, on Friday urged regional and international countries to expand economic cooperation with the Islamic Emirate, calling for an end to what he described as unnecessary sanctions and external pressures.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of a commercial market project in Balkh province, Mullah Baradar said that a prosperous and economically strong Afghanistan would not undermine other countries, but would instead contribute to regional stability and shared economic growth.

He added that the Islamic Emirate is committed to an independent, comprehensive economic and political approach in its regional and international partnerships.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the commercial market is being constructed in Mazar-e-Sharif at a cost of 743 million Afghanis, covering an area of 600 square meters.
