Yesterday, October 20, 2025, during his visit to Herat Province, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, inaugurated the second phase of the Kabul Folad Melting Factory in Herat Industrial Park.
The Deputy PM stated that since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate, both regional and many international countries have taken practical steps to expand their economic relations with Afghanistan, and these efforts are continually growing.
He added that the Islamic Emirate has given special attention to the development of industry and, for this purpose, has launched major domestic electricity generation and power import projects.
The Deputy PM called on all investors to invest in Afghanistan, assuring them of the Islamic Emirate’s full cooperation and support.
An investment of 20 million USD has been made in the second phase of the Kabul Folad Melting Factory, which has the capacity to process 500 tons of iron daily.
