Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei announced on Monday that preparations are underway for the next round of indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States, scheduled for Sunday.
Since April, the two sides have held five rounds of indirect negotiations aimed at reviving or replacing the 2015 nuclear deal, which was derailed by the U.S. withdrawal in 2018. The talks have been mediated by Oman.
Three of the previous rounds took place in Muscat, while the other two were held in Rome. The negotiations have seen repeated shifts in Washington’s position, drawing criticism from Iranian officials, who described the U.S. statements as “contradictory.”
Baghaei indicated that the upcoming round would be held in Oman, following consultations between the parties.
