Mohammad Saeed Al-Ayash, head of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation office in Afghanistan, stated in a meeting with Mullah Abdul Manan Omari, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, that the organization plans to open a carpet weaving center in Kabul in the near future.
Mr. Al-Ayash described Afghan carpets as a symbol of the country’s national identity and added that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has already launched a carpet weaving program for female prisoners in the country.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs welcomed this initiative by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and assured full cooperation in this regard.
