Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday criticized Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s lying before the US Congress, saying, “When we see those who applaud the murderer of 40,000 innocent people, we worry not only for humanity but also for our own future.”
Erdogan remarked at a function in the province of Rize in the northeast: “Rolling out the red carpet for someone like Netanyahu, going much further and applauding his lies till their hands swell is a great mental eclipse for America.”
“The other day, we watched those disgraceful scenes in US House of Representatives together,” the president added in response to Netanyahu’s speech to the US Congress on Wednesday, which was well-received by Congressmen.
We felt embarrassed of humanity as a whole for what we witnessed there.”
Erdogan went on to say: “Who can guarantee that those who razed Gaza to the ground today will not set their dirty eyes on Anatolia tomorrow?”
Erdogan responded to the proposal from the Turkish opposition to bring the Palestinian leadership to Turkey, saying, “Some political parties say ‘the government should invite Palestinian president to Türkiye, and have him speak in the parliament.'” Who claims he wasn’t invited by us?
“We invited (Palestinian) President Mahmoud Abbas to attend, but he has to apologize first. He declined our invitation to attend. We’re waiting to see if he shows up,” Erdogan continued.
