Russia launched its deadliest attack on Kyiv this year, flattening part of an apartment block and killing at least 18 people in a wave of drone and missile strikes across Ukraine on Tuesday.
Ukrainian officials reported 16 deaths in Kyiv and two in Odesa, with at least 151 injured. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy called it one of the war’s most horrific assaults on the capital.
A national day of mourning was declared for Wednesday.
