The Deputy Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir (Wednesday, Jan 19) had an introductory meeting with the new Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Ali Raza Begdali, in his office.
At this meeting, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mr. Reza Begdali, emphasized on the development of relations and economic cooperation between the two countries and said that the activating and opening of Chabahar Port will be at the top of his efforts.
Referring to the memorandum of cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan, he added that they want to develop cooperation with Afghanistan. He invited the Deputy Prime Minister Mawlawi Abdul Kabir to visit Tehran at the suitable time.
The Deputy Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, congratulated Mr. Ali Reza Begdali on his new job and hoped that, considering the commonalities and historical relations between Afghanistan and Iran, the relations and cooperation between the two countries would expand.
The honorable Deputy Prime Minister said that the Islamic Emirate wants to develop economic and political cooperation with Iran and demanded that Iranian investors and businessmen invest in Afghanistan.
He said that the Islamic Emirate does not allow its relations with other countries to be influenced by others, but Afghanistan is trying to achieve regional stability and economic strength.
Honorable Mawlawi Abdul Kabir expressed his gratitude to Iran for the hospitality of the Afghan refugees, and said that the necessary facilities should be provided to the Afghan refugees and they should be treated gently and the forced evacuation of the Afghan refugees should be avoided.
Continuing this meeting, Deputy Prime Minister said that there are no factors in Afghanistan that could damage the relations between Iran and Afghanistan.
Furthermore he Mentioned, that currently the cultivation and smuggling of drugs in Afghanistan has ended and the issue of water rights between Iran and Afghanistan has been resolved with understanding.
He additionally pointed to, that irresponsible statements in this regard can have a negative impact on the relations between countries.
