Today, November 17, 2024, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, held a meeting with several Russian and Afghan investors to discuss trade and investment opportunities.
This meeting was attended by acting ministers of the Ministries of Urban Development and Housing, Industry and Commerce, and Transport and Aviation, along with deputy ministers of the Ministries of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, and Public Health, as well as officials from the General Directorate of State-Owned Corporations.
Discussions focused on investments by Russian investors in infrastructure, industry, trade, transportation,agriculture, railways, and health sectors, exploring existing opportunities and fostering mutual cooperation in these fields.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs stated that Afghanistan currently offers significant opportunities for investment in various sectors, and both domestic and foreign investors are encouraged to capitalize on them.
He highlighted that Afghanistan is a resource-rich country, presenting excellent prospects for investment. He reiterated the government’s consistent invitation to local and international investors to engage in diverse industries across Afghanistan.
The Russian investors expressed a keen interest in investing in Afghanistan, particularly in the industrial, transport, railway, health, and agricultural sectors.
They also emphasized their desire to share their expertise with the Islamic Emirate.
In conclusion, Deputy PM Mullah Baradar Akhund assured both Russian and Afghan investors of the Islamic Emirate’s full support and cooperation.
He encouraged them to conduct market assessments and begin their operations in Afghanistan within a secure environment.
