On Wednesday, the Acting Head of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, Alhaj Mullah Nooruddin Turabi, met with Alexander Matheou, the Head of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for Asia.
Turabi Sahb began the meeting by discussing the achievements and challenges of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority, highlighting that a significant number of people in Afghanistan are facing poverty and hardship and are in urgent need of assistance.
He further emphasized the need for standardized warehouses in the provinces and the pressing requirement for food and non-food aid for the people.
Mr. Alexander expressed his gratitude to the Acting Head of the Authority for his continuous efforts and collaboration in the field of humanitarian assistance, noting that the organization has consistently delivered aid to affected families.
Mr. Alexander also assured that they would extend their full cooperation with the Authority to jointly manage disasters and swiftly address the essential needs of the people.
