The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has issued a statement condemning the Israeli regime’s recognition of a region in the Federal Republic of Somalia called “Somaliland” as an independent country.
In the statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs described this step of dividing an Islamic country as a clear violation of international law, as well as a breach of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Somalia. The Ministry further stated that such measures have negative consequences for the stability and peace of the region and possess no legal legitimacy or status.
It is worth noting that Somaliland unilaterally declared independence in 1991, but it has not yet been recognized as an independent country by the international community.
