Russian Special Representative in a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs; Emphasized the importance of enhancing Moscow’s relationship with Kabul

The Russian President’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Zamir Kabulov, recently met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi.

During the meeting, discussions centered on enhancing bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Russia, with a particular focus on economic cooperation, investment, and transit.

The Foreign Minister underscored the significance of the relationship between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Russian Federation, emphasizing the need for expanding cooperation in economic and trade sectors.

Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi highlighted the importance of high-level delegation exchanges between Afghanistan and Russia, noting that numerous officials from the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have participated in meetings in Russia over the past year.

The Russian Special Representative expressed his country’s interest in strengthening ties with Afghanistan in economic and trade domains.

Additionally, Zamir Kabulov mentioned plans to dispatch a high-ranking Russian delegation to Kabul in the near future for substantive discussions with senior officials of the Islamic Emirate, exploring opportunities for broadening cooperation across various areas.
