Trump Heads to UAE as Nation Seeks Al Leadership

U.S. President Donald Trump is set to visit the UAE after wrapping up his Qatar trip with a speech to American troops. Emirati leaders are seeking U.S. support to become a global leader in artificial intelligence.

Reuters reports a preliminary deal allowing the UAE to import 500,000 of Nvidia’s top AI chips annually, though U.S. national security concerns may affect the terms.

Trump’s Gulf tour has included major business deals: Qatar Airways’ purchase of up to 210 Boeing jets, a $600 billion Saudi investment pledge in the U.S., and $142 billion in U.S. arms sales to Saudi Arabia.

The visit also saw a surprise diplomatic move as Trump announced the U.S. will lift sanctions on Syria, followed by a meeting with Syrian interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
