Today, May 6, 2025, the Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met with the United Arab Emirates’ Special Envoy to Afghanistan, Mr. Saif Mohammad Al Ketbi, in his office.
The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Public Works, Mullah Mohammad Essa Thani.
During the meeting, both parties discussed the enhancement of bilateral relations, particularly in the economic sector, between Afghanistan and the United Arab Emirates.
The Deputy PM emphasized that Afghanistan is a country rich in natural resources, and the Islamic Emirate is actively working to attract investment in these resources in order to achieve economic self-sufficiency.
He further noted that Emirati investors have a wide range of opportunities to invest in Afghanistan across various sectors.
In response, the UAE’s Special Envoy to Afghanistan announced plans to organize a conference in Kabul for Emirati investors and traders.
He stated that the conference would focus on discussing investment projects aimed at driving economic development in Afghanistan.
Additionally, he expressed his country’s interest in investing in Afghanistan’s railway and road infrastructure sectors.
