A delegation led by Dr. Abdul Bari Omar, CEO of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS), accompanied by representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Finance, held productive meetings with the leadership of the National Electricity Company of Uzbekistan and local officials.
During these discussions, CEO Dr. Omar talked with Uzbek leadership focused on the electricity purchase agreement for 2025, addressing various aspects crucial for the effective and sustainable supply of electricity to Afghanistan.
As part of this visit, CEO Dr. Omar also planned to engage in talks with the Uzbek side regarding key power transmission projects. These projects include the Surkhan-Pol-Khumri-Dasht-Alwan and Kabul-Arghandi-Nangarhar Sheikh Misri 500 kV power transmission lines, which are designed to carry between 800 and 1000 MW of electricity.
These initiatives are part of Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat’s ongoing efforts to improve the country’s energy infrastructure and ensure a reliable power supply to meet the growing demand.

It is to be said that earlier, during a visit to Turkmenistan, Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat’s leadership signed an agreement for the purchase of electricity for the year 2025.
Additionally, discussions with the Turkmen side focused on the development of economic relations, particularly in the field of energy, to foster long-term cooperation and ensure the continued growth of the electricity sector in Afghanistan.
