Iranian Vice-President for Strategic Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif has resigned from his position, according to Iranian media reports.
The Fars News Agency cited two sources confirming his resignation following a hearing on the dismissal of Finance Minister Abdul Nasser Hemmati.
Zarif, who previously served as Iran’s Foreign Minister from 2013 to 2021 under former President Hassan Rouhani, was closely aligned with the “reformists.”
He also played a key role in Masoud Pezeshkian’s presidential campaign, significantly contributing to his election victory.
