Zelenskyy expresses regret that the White House meeting “did not go as planned.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Tuesday expressed regret over his meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House last week, saying it “did not go the way it was supposed to.”
In a post on X, Zelenskyy reaffirmed Ukraine’s readiness to begin negotiations with Russia to end the conflict that began on Feb. 24, 2022.
“Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go as planned. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right,” he wrote. “We hope for constructive cooperation and communication moving forward.”
