Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development Signs Contract for Wakhan Road Project
The Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development signed a contract with a private company on Thursday, March 13, to commence the second phase of the Wakhan road project in Badakhshan province.
The contract covers the construction of 71 kilometers of road, which will be completed swiftly, according to Minister Mullah Mohammad Younis Akhundzada.
He further stated that the project is fully funded by the Islamic Emirate.
The decision to launch the second phase comes after years of neglect by previous governments, leaving Wakhan residents without essential infrastructure, including proper roads.
