The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock announced that more than 177,000 metric tons of rice have been harvested in Kunduz province during the current solar year.
According to statistics from the Kunduz Department of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, 48,727 hectares of land were cultivated with rice, yielding a total of 177,367 metric tons.
The ministry attributed the increase in production to the use of improved seeds and chemical fertilizers, the promotion of row-planting methods, pest and disease control, and the expansion of cultivated areas.
