Pakistani media have reported that Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, and his wife, Bushra Bibi, have been sentenced by a special court in Rawalpindi to 17 years in prison and a fine of 16.4 million Pakistani rupees.
According to reports, the sentence is related to Bushra Bibi receiving an expensive set of jewelry as a gift from the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia during Imran Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister. They are accused of purchasing the jewelry from the state gift repository at a very low price.
