Interior Minister Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani met with a delegation led by the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political and Peacebuilding Affairs, Ms. Rosemary DiCarlo.
According to the Ministry of Interior, the meeting focused on strengthening engagement between Afghanistan and the international community, cooperation in combating narcotics, enhancing economic stability, removing restrictions on the private sector, and improving the effectiveness of United Nations humanitarian assistance.
Both sides also discussed constructive engagement between the Islamic Emirate and the international community, as well as expanding cooperation in line with existing realities.
The UN delegation praised the security situation in Afghanistan and the efforts and progress made by the Islamic Emirate in counter-narcotics, and reaffirmed its commitment to the continuation of humanitarian assistance.
