The Ministry of Foreign Affairs says the government of the United Arab Emirates has released around 108 Afghan prisoners from UAE prisons on the occasion of the country’s National Day.
According to the ministry, a number of the released individuals have already returned to Afghanistan, while the return of the remaining prisoners will take place in the near future after the completion of legal procedures.
The ministry expressed its gratitude to the UAE government for this humanitarian gesture and reaffirmed that it will continue efforts to follow up on the cases of Afghan prisoners abroad.
