In a statement issued on the occasion of the withdrawal of the Soviet Union’s Red Army from Afghanistan on February 15, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan described the day as a glorious chapter in the nation’s history and extended its congratulations to all Muslims and Mujahedeen.
The statement noted that achieving freedom from occupation for the third time in the past century demonstrates that the Afghan people’s spirit of independence remains strong. It stressed that aggressors should learn from this day and refrain from taking any actions that threaten Afghanistan’s freedom and independence in the future.
The statement further emphasized that Afghans must remain vigilant against all forms of conspiracies and plots, just as they have in the past.
