The United States and Israel have reportedly carried out joint military strikes on Iran, with explosions reported across Tehran and other parts of the country.
According to reports, missiles struck areas including University Street, Jomhouri, and the northern Seyyed Khandan district, with smoke visible over the city. One targeted site was near the offices of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has been moved to a secure location.
Israel’s Defense Minister, Israel Katz, said the strikes aimed to “remove threats to Israel,” while a US official described the operation as a coordinated air and sea attack, backed by a large US fleet deployed in the region.
Telecommunications in several parts of Tehran have reportedly been disrupted, limiting cellphone use.
