Afghanistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called on citizens in Qatar who are awaiting U.S. visas and have been instructed by U.S. authorities to return to a third country or Afghanistan to come back to their homeland.
In a statement, the ministry said Afghanistan is “the common home of all Afghans” and assured citizens that they are welcome to return with confidence, adding that the country’s doors are open to those facing similar circumstances.
It also noted that individuals intending to travel abroad can do so legally and at the appropriate time, and stressed that there is currently no security threat in Afghanistan forcing people to leave the country.
