Afghanistan’s Legendary Cricketer Shapoor Zadran Passes Away

Former Afghanistan national cricket team fast bowler *Shapoor Zadran* passed away on Tuesday, July 7, at the age of 38 in a hospital in India after battling a prolonged illness.

In a statement, the *Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB)* expressed its profound sorrow over the passing of the former national team star, describing his death as a tremendous loss for Afghan cricket.

Born in *Logar Province* in 1987, Zadran made his One Day International (ODI) debut for Afghanistan against the Netherlands in 2009. He played his final ODI against Ireland in 2019.

Over the course of his international career, Zadran represented Afghanistan in *43 One Day Internationals (ODIs)* and *32 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is)*, making invaluable contributions to the team’s rise and the development of cricket in the country.

Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Afghan cricket, Shapoor Zadran played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s cricketing journey. Through his passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment, he inspired a generation of players and helped elevate Afghanistan’s presence on the international stage.
