Afghanistan’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi to discuss the situation of Afghan refugees, support for returnees and future cooperation.
Mr. Baradar called on the United Nations to increase development assistance, saying greater investment in housing, schools, electricity and employment would help reintegrate returnees and internally displaced people.
Mr. Grandi pledged to continue efforts to mobilize additional international assistance for Afghanistan, according to officials.
