The Afghan Red Crescent Society announced that a delegation of Uzbek traders, during a meeting with Shaikh Shahabuddin Delawar, Head of the Society, pledged support for providing essential medicines to patients with congenital heart defects in Afghanistan.
According to the Society, Mr. Delawar said that a fully equipped specialized hospital for the treatment of congenital heart defects will soon become operational in the country.
He added that the hospital will provide specialized medical and surgical services to approximately 2,000 patients.
