According to research by Al Jazeera News Network, more than 40,000 Palestinians, including approximately 17,000 children, have been killed in Gaza following the onset of attacks by the Israeli regime on October 7, 2023. The conflict has now continued for 320 days. On average, each day has seen the deaths of 53 children and 72 men and women, with an additional 10,000 individuals buried under the rubble.
The research indicates that among the 40,000 Palestinian fatalities, 18.4% were women and 33% were children. Furthermore, over 500 schools that served as shelters have been targeted and largely destroyed. As a result of this ongoing conflict, Palestinian children have lost an entire school year.
