The Kandahar Department of Information and Culture has inaugurated a three-day exhibition titled “Good Book, Good Life” to promote the study of tradition.
The exhibition showcased thousands of diverse books, offering a wide range of options for visitors. Moreover, over a thousand prizes have been allocated to be awarded to book buyers.
The exhibition, which commenced on Sunday, witnessed the presence of esteemed individuals including the deputy governor of Kandahar, Mawlawi Hayatullah Mubarak, the director of information and culture, Mawlawi Inamullah Samangani, the director of promoting virtue and preventing evil, Mawlawi Abdul Hai Omari, the director of education, Mawlawi Fakhruddin Naqshbandi, as well as scholars, writers, poets, public figures, and youth.
During the event, Mr. Samangani extended a warm welcome to all the guests and emphasized the significance of books in societies that have made progress. He highlighted that societies can only advance when they recognize the value of books, as they contribute to a better life. He further mentioned that this exhibition marks the beginning of a national event, with the aim of organizing future national exhibitions.
The deputy governor of Kandahar expressed the view that the pen and the book hold immense power, and individuals who harness their potential can attain nobility. He emphasized that books are crucial tools for personal and societal development, and by integrating books into our society, we can effectively counter intellectual invasion.
Mr. Mubarak encouraged members of the society to embrace books as an integral part of their lives, enabling them to achieve success in both this world and the hereafter.
Mr. Naqshbandi, the director of education, urged teachers to motivate students to read books and engage in studying. He also encouraged young people and students to prioritize reading books over relying solely on online studies.
