The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has dismissed the recent claim by Pakistan’s Foreign Minister that Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi contacted him six times in one day, calling the statement inaccurate.
According to the Ministry, the initial phone call between the two sides took place within the framework of mutual understanding and coordination. During the conversation, Ishaq Dar stated that he was not fully briefed on the situation and would return the call after obtaining complete information. The second call was made accordingly.
The Ministry further explained that the following day, the Pakistani Foreign Minister attempted to contact Kabul; however, due to various reasons, the call could not be connected.
The Ministry stressed that relations between nations are grounded in mutual respect and factual engagement. It noted that such inaccurate remarks contradict the spirit of respect and diplomatic interaction between the two countries.
The Ministry expressed hope that senior Pakistani officials will ensure accuracy when making public statements and reflect facts responsibly.
