The Herat provincial government’s media office announced that, according to the provincial Chamber of Commerce and Investment, the province has exported more than 19.9 million kilograms of dried fruits to 20 countries during the first seven months of the current solar year.
The total value of these exports is estimated at $57.7 million, representing a threefold increase compared to the same period over the past three years.
The exported products include almonds, pistachios, dried figs, apricot kernels, raisins, plums, pistachio nuts, walnuts, and roasted chickpeas.
According to the media office, these shipments were sent to countries including Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States, Iran, Qatar, Turkey, India, Saudi Arabia, and several others.
