In the solar year 1403, the movement of over 34,400 foreign nationals was officially recorded

According to the National Statistics and Information Authority, a total of 34,411 entries and exits of foreign nationals were documented through the country’s airports and land border crossings during the course of the year 1403 (2024–2025).

The compiled data indicates that 18,846 foreign nationals, including 598 women, entered Afghanistan, while 15,565 individuals, including 382 women, departed the country.

Furthermore, the statistics show that 18,392 individuals arrived via land border crossings, and an additional 454 persons entered by air. Of these, 2,721 visited Afghanistan for the purpose of exploring its historical and cultural heritage, while the remainder primarily entered for employment-related reasons.

According to the Authority’s records, the highest number of foreign arrivals-10,641 individuals, the majority of whom were drivers-entered through the Nimroz border for work purposes. This was followed by 4,345 entrants through the Torkham crossing, among whom 1,325 were tourists. Additionally, 3,058 foreign nationals entered through the land borders and airport in Herat, while the remaining visitors arrived through the Hairatan border and Balkh airport, Aqina in Faryab, Ishkashim in Badakhshan borders, and Kabul and Kandahar Airports.

It is noteworthy that the Civil Registration Services Directorate of the National Statistics and Information Authority, alongside its other responsibilities and activities, is also tasked with managing the official registration of foreign nationals entering and exiting the country through airports and designated border crossings.
