The spokesman for the Islamic Emirate, Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid, said that the delegation of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, under the special guidance of the leadership and with full authority, participated in two days of negotiations with the Pakistani side in Istanbul on November 6 and 7.
The Afghan delegation attended the talks with goodwill and sincere intentions, hoping that the Pakistani side, after consulting with its leadership, would approach the discussions seriously, with a sense of responsibility and constructive purpose, and would present realistic and practical proposals.
However, Mr. Mujahid stated that during the talks, the Pakistani delegation attempted to place all security-related responsibilities on the Afghan side, while showing no readiness to assume responsibility for either its own security or that of Afghanistan.
He added that this irresponsible and uncooperative approach by the Pakistani delegation prevented any tangible outcome, despite the goodwill of the Islamic Emirate and the tireless efforts of the mediators.
Mawlawi Zabihullah Mujahid reiterated the Islamic Emirate’s principled stance that Afghanistan’s soil will not be used against any other country, nor will it allow any nation to use its territory to undermine Afghanistan’s sovereignty, independence, or security.
He emphasized that the Muslim people of Pakistan are brothers to the Afghan nation, and the Islamic Emirate remains committed to peaceful relations and constructive cooperation within its means and responsibilities.
At the same time, he affirmed that protecting Afghanistan’s people and territory is a legal and national duty of the Islamic Emirate, and it will resolutely defend the country against any aggression with the help of Almighty Allah and the support of its people.
Mr. Mujahid expressed gratitude to the brotherly countries of Turkey and Qatar for hosting and mediating the talks.
