The twelfth session of the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission convened on February 5th at the Marmarin Palace, addressing various pertinent economic matters as outlined in the agenda.
During the session, the committee received and reviewed the comprehensive report on the preliminary feasibility study for the second phase of the Kamal Khan Dam. Following extensive deliberations, a specialized committee comprising representatives from the Ministries of Water and Energy, Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock, and the National Development Corporation was tasked with conducting detailed technical feasibility assessments. These assessments will be based on the findings of prior studies, with the committee responsible for presenting their report to the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission upon completion.
Furthermore, discussions centered around the financing of the initial phase of the fourth segment of the Herat-Khaf railway project. After thorough examination, it was decided that the Ministry of Finance would draft a tailored proposal for presentation to the leadership of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, seeking the necessary funding for the project. This decision has been forwarded to the Economic Commission for final approval.
