During a joint meeting with Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, India’s Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar announced that India has upgraded its technical mission in Kabul to the level of an embassy.
Dr. Jaishankar also stated that India remains fully committed to Afghanistan’s territorial integrity, national sovereignty, and independence.
In the same meeting, Dr. Jaishankar announced that India is implementing six new projects in Afghanistan. He added that India will provide 20 ambulances, as well as various medical equipment and vaccines to Afghan hospitals.
Furthermore, he assured support for investment in Afghanistan’s mineral resources by Indian companies, and pledged assistance to earthquake-affected and returning populations.
It is worth noting that Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi arrived in India yesterday and is scheduled to hold several important meetings over the coming days.
