Engineer Ajmal Maiwandi, Director of Aga Khan Cultural Services, met with Shaikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani, Minister of Information and Culture of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
Mr. Haqqani highlighted Afghanistan as the cradle of major civilizations and stressed that protecting the country’s cultural heritage is a top priority. He praised Aga Khan Cultural Services for restoring and preserving historic sites and called for closer coordination.
The Director of Aga Khan Cultural Services said the organization has rehabilitated over 160 monuments across the provinces, including Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Badakhshan, Logar, and Ghazni.
