Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa said Wednesday that Damascus is committed to restoring its “historic and strategic” relations with Russia.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Moscow alongside Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sharaa emphasized Syria’s respect for past agreements and the long-standing friendship between the two nations.
“We have close relations with Russia, and a large part of Syria’s energy sector relies on Russian expertise,” he added.
