Minister of Foreign Affairs held an introductory meeting with the newly appointed UNAMA Deputy Special Representative and Humanitarian Coordinator, Bruno Georges Lemarquis, to discuss strengthening cooperation between Afghanistan and the United Nations.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of implementing development and infrastructure projects alongside humanitarian assistance. He said the Islamic Emirate remains committed to providing the necessary cooperation with the United Nations to support these efforts.
For his part, Bruno Georges Lemarquis reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to continued engagement with Afghanistan and emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation across various sectors to address the country’s humanitarian and development needs.
