Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, Minister of Interior Affairs, met with Hanan Balkhi, Head of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office, to discuss strengthening Afghanistan’s health sector, expanding health cooperation, enhancing coordination, and the implementation of polio vaccination programmes.
The Minister of Interior Affairs assured full cooperation in the delivery of health services, stating that favorable conditions now exist for the provision of such services in Afghanistan, which he noted were previously constrained due to security-related challenges.
He further underscored the importance of expanding health services as a core component of humanitarian assistance and called for ensuring that political considerations remain separate from the delivery of health services.
