Sediqullah Khalid, First Deputy Governor of the Central Bank, met with Dirk Joseph Thiessen, Deputy Director of the Afghanistan Credit Guarantee Foundation (ACGF), and his accompanying delegation.
The Central Bank said that the two sides discussed expanding microfinance guarantee services, providing grants, and strengthening technical cooperation with Afghanistan’s financial institutions.
Sediqullah Khalid reaffirmed the Central Bank’s commitment to developing and strengthening the country’s financial and banking sectors, and called on the foundation to ensure that financing services are provided nationwide in an equal and non-discriminatory manner.
According to the Central Bank, both sides also emphasized the continuation of cooperation to enhance financial inclusion, support the private sector, and further strengthen Afghanistan’s financial and banking system.
