For the first time, Salam Telecommunication Network has started operating in the “Great Pamir” area of Wakhan District in Badakhshan Province.
Prior to this, the Communication Networks had already been established in the “little Pamir” area of the province.
During a six-day visit by Alhaj Mulla Noorullah Noori, Acting Minister of Borders, Tribes, and Tribal Affairs, to the area in August-September 2023, the residents expressed their demand for communication network activity, among other demands. In response, the Ministry of Telecommunications transferred the base of “Salam” State Telecommunication Company to the said area and encouraged other private companies to extend telecommunications coverage to Wakhan National Park.
Since the re-establishment of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the people of the Pamir and Wakhan regions have benefited from various public services, including health and education.
It is noteworthy that China’s historic “Silk Road” passes through this area, and the Cabinet of the Islamic Emirate has approved the decision to construct it. Additionally, heavy machineries have been deployed to the area for the first time to build a road to the Great Pamir.
The people of the region are happy and satisfied with the services of the Islamic Emirate.
