It is with profound sorrow that we have received the news that the head teacher of Darul-Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak, Peshawar, Sheikh al-Hadith Mawlana Muhammad Idris, has been martyred.
Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.
The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan unequivocally condemns this attack in the strongest possible terms and regards the martyrdom of esteemed scholars as an act perpetrated by the enemies of Islam and the Ulama.
The martyrdom of this distinguished scholar and educator of thousands constitutes a grave and irreparable loss for the entire academic community, the Ulama, and the broader Islamic world.
We supplicate to Almighty Allah to grant the late Sheikh the highest place in Jannat al-Firdaws, and to bestow patience and abundant reward upon his family, relatives, and associates. We further beseech Allah Almighty to humiliate the enemies of the Ulama in this world and in the Hereafter.
