During the regular session of the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission convened on January 29th at Marmarin Palace, various economic matters were deliberated in accordance with the outlined agenda. The proposal addressing the self-sufficiency of vegetable oil took center stage during this meeting. Following a thorough discourse, the blueprint received provisional approval. Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock were entrusted with disseminating this plan to the Ministries of Water and Energy, as well as Industry and Commerce. They were tasked with refining the proposal based on the input received and presenting the enhanced version to the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission.
Another significant topic broached by the Technical Committee pertained to the issuance of national optical fiber licenses to new applicants. Following an exhaustive discussion, it was determined that these licenses should be awarded through an international bidding process. The endorsement of contracts with qualified companies was identified as a crucial step, and this matter was forwarded to the Economic Commission for the ultimate decision.
Furthermore, the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission delved into a strategic plan for generating additional revenue for the National Environmental Protection Agency. Following an in-depth examination, representatives from the agency were tasked with sharing the plan with relevant ministries and agencies. Subsequently, their feedback is to be incorporated, and the refined proposal will be presented to the Technical Committee of the Economic Commission for further consideration.
