The European Union Delegation in Afghanistan announced in a press release that it will provide assistance worth 7 million euros to rural families across the country.
Veronika Boskovic Pohar, the EU Representative in Afghanistan, said that the support will enable even the most remote families to protect their livelihoods against the impacts of climate change.
According to the statement, the project is designed to help rural communities cope with natural disasters, including droughts and floods, and to create small economic opportunities.
Previously, the European Union Delegation in Afghanistan had also announced a contribution of five million euros to support Afghanistan’s private sector.
