Hamas has warned that the Gaza ceasefire agreement will not move into its second phase as long as Israeli “violations” continue, calling on mediators to pressure Israel to fully comply with the deal.
Hamas Political Bureau member Hossam Badran said on Tuesday that Israel has failed to uphold key terms of the ceasefire, including the reopening of the Rafah crossing with Egypt and allowing increased humanitarian aid into Gaza.
He urged the U.S.-led mediators to push Israel to complete the full implementation of the first phase of the agreement.
The ceasefire, in effect since October 10, brought a halt to Israel’s brutal war on Gaza, but remains fragile amid ongoing Israeli violations.
Meanwhile, an Israeli official announced that the Allenby crossing on the Israeli-controlled border between Jordan and the occupied West Bank will reopen on Wednesday to allow aid trucks bound for Gaza to pass through for the first time since late September.
