Mawlawi Zabiullah Mujahid said criticism of the Principles of Separation of Couples by groups opposing Islamic values is “not new” and should not be taken seriously.
He stated that the laws of the Islamic Emirate are based on Islamic Sharia and contain nothing contrary to Islamic principles. Mr. Mujahid also explained that, under Hanafi jurisprudence, fathers and grandfathers may act as guardians of minor children if they meet specific moral and legal conditions.
According to Mr. Mujahid, the ruling was introduced to simplify court procedures in family-related cases, not to grant unrestricted authority. He further noted that a separate decree by His Excellency Amir al-Mu’minin prohibits forced marriages without a girl’s consent, adding that thousands of such cases have been addressed by courts and relevant authorities over the past year.
